What is Fixed-Wireless?
One method to provide broadband access to the Internet, which instead of using a conventional wired system relies on a network of static antennas to beam the data from a client's premises via a Network Operating Center down into the heart of the World Wide Web.

How fast will my connection be?
Michwave is currently fed by something called a DS3 and operates at ~45Mbps which is delivered directly via OC192 fiber lines. Be sure to ask our competitors how much bandwidth is feeding their tower sites as chances are they are using wire-line T1’s which are only ~1.5Mbps. The actual speed delivered to your company is dependant on what service plan is chosen. However, Michwave does not "oversell" the network like cable, DSL, and some of our competing wireless ISP’s do, ensuring you get what you ordered.

What do I need to access the Internet by this method?
If your computer(s) have an Ethernet or LAN connection hooked to a broadband router, you should be all set. If not, don’t worry about it we can take care of that too.

Is this difficult to install?
Yes it is. That is why we do it for you.

Is it secure?
Unlike some of the wireless technologies you can get at the local electronics store, Michwave uses proprietary radio technology. And thanks to the use of sophisticated encryption software initially developed by the military for combat situations, security is extremely high. However the internet inherently is not secure so we do recommend security measures such as a firewall.

Is the signal affected by the weather?
Theoretically no. However, falling blocks of ice and hurricane force winds do pose the possibility of de-aligning antennas as well as destroying buildings. This is very rare.

Is interference a problem?
We are using the highly reliable 5Ghz frequency along with top-of-the-line radio equipment to provide up to 99.998% uptime. So generally speaking, NO.
